    why in the first SMS the SMSC send to HLR SRI but the next SMS doesnt ask to HLR and the SMS send to directy to MSC/VLR.?

    In the first SMS, the Originating MSC needs to know the MSCID of the Terminating MSC.So, based on the B number, the STP will perform the GTT and get to the associated SMSC, which in turn sends query to the HLR to know the MSCID of the called party.Once this information is achieved, the next time the SMSC receives the message for the same B number, it will directly transit it to the terminating MSC using the mSCID it received earlier.Hence, no need to querying the HLR again.

    HLR is a permanent data storage of subscribers while VLR is temporary. VLR is located within PLMN.

    @Mohammad Hamid : Your HLR and VLR is synched wid each other for ur current location. HLR is a database which will be having info like VAS services you opted for, Current location and etc. If HLR and VLR is not synched wid each other then SMS delivery will be failed and may lead to doing an extra SRI resulting in traffic increase..

    Why HLR is queried for first SMS.

    If you check the traces then you will see following.

    1. SRI for B party is done on HLR by HOME SMSC.
    2. SRI Response will be given by HLR.
    3. In response SMSC will receive the GT of B party MSC
    4. Now, HOME SMSC will do MT of SMS on given MSC address.

    If wrong please correct..
