Go Green Telecom

This not to scare you at the first instance. A plain logical calculation which is something of botheration here. There are 5,773,000 cubic miles of water in ice caps, glaciers, and permanent snow. According to the National Snow and Ice Data Center, if all glaciers melted today the sea would rise about 230 feet. Luckily, that’s not going to happen all in one go! But sea levels will rise. Sorry if you feel threatened but avoiding this is not our responsibility or even let me say, its our duty because mankind is 100% responsible for global warming. Let’s come to the subject:
What is Green Telecom?
Global warming is the major threatening issue for the future of our earth, each and every person having a responsibility to postpone this threat. Green Telecom is a global initiative to use renewable energy for operating Telecom towers in rural area.
Note: Diesel power generator taking Rs 6,400 crore to operate 3 lakh telecom towers every yearAs per the forecaster in 2030 oil will have declined back to 1980 levels as worldwide demand for oil significantly out-paces production. The only hope for future Telecom industry is solar powered GSM platform. It will help us in many aspects such as
- Use renewable energy without harming the nature
- Implementation cost is comparatively less
- Near-zero maintenance for operators.
- Reduction of Carbon Emissions Across the Global
Green Telecom in India
Indian operators are facing more problems while implementing their radio network in rural areas. Reliable access to electricity is limited in many developing countries that are currently the high-growth market for telecommunications. At the same time, many operators have adopted corporate social responsibility initiatives with a goal of reducing their networks’ carbon footprints, and network infrastructure vendors are striving to gain competitive advantage by reducing the power requirements of their equipment. According to an industry report, all of these factors will continue to converge over the next several years, and “green” network equipment will grow to represent 46% of the $277 billion global telecom infrastructure market by 2013.
India is the emerging telecom market has taken initiative to implement Green Telecom and the 2nd GREEN TELECOM INDIA 2010 International Conference will take place on 10th September 2010 at Le-Meridien, New Delhi, bringing together top executives with a desire to protect the environment while retaining a competitive edge and cost savings.
Key focus areas will be address at this conference:
- Energy Efficiency in Telecom Equipment: Opportunities and Challenges
- Examining the market drivers & implementing the best practices for Green Telecom in India
- Making the Most Of Renewable Energy – Exploring The Alternatives
- Determine the feasibility, cost structure, and ROI path for renewable energy sources, including solar, wind, and more.
- Examining the new Approach to Save Money, Increase Quality and Reduce CO2 Emissions
- How Can the Telecoms Industry Help Other Industries Reduce Carbon Emissions and Therefore Cost?
- Detail solutions and strategies that network operators can utilize immediately to reduce power and cooling costs.
- Understanding the effects on operators’ OPEX and CAPEX
- Develop a strategy for your organization to reduce costs, and take advantage of new services that add to a telecom network operator’s bottom line.
- Key development & services by equipment manufactures for the telecom industry, How it will be more effectively?
