sorry, what I meant was: why, in reality, do we have such messages (valid SMS MT with having different GTs between SCCP Calling and MAP-SM-RP-OA)? what elements that change the SCCP Calling GT? do they know (the ones doing them) that they are doing faking?

Hello,

I have a question about Faking SMS MT. It could happen from SMS MT that has SCCP Calling Party GT that is different than MAP SM-RP-OA (which is the SMSC address). What I have seen is that a lot of valid SMS MT has such combination, so that we can not just block them. My question is that why, in reality, do we have such question? Which elements change the SCCP Calling Party GT?

Appreciate your response.

Hi,

This is bcoz...IMSI is a unique identity...In GSM security, IMSI is encrypted to protect from interception from air-interfaces..., however MSISDN can be leaked very easily.

One more question:
A subscriber of Bihar in roaming to Rajasthan, latched into 3G ICR network of Vodafone, sends a message to B subscriber of Rajasthan, also latched into 3G ICR network what is the SMS flow in this case?
Also, SMS charging is not happening online for Bihar Outroamer? What can be the causes.

Hi All,

Question:1# A subscriber (Latched into 3G ICR network - Vodafone Rajasthan subscriber latched into Airtel 3G), sends a SMS to B subscriber (Normal 2G subscriber - Idea 2G) and SMS keeps on waiting (absent subscriber).
Now, A subscriber latches into 2G network of Vodafone, will SMS get delivered to B party?

Question:2# When SMSC sends SRI-SM to HLR, GT of HLR needs to be opeaned at SMSC, It is not possible to open open GTs of all the HLRs of all the operators worldwide...
